Borussia Dortmund have won their first home match of the new Champions League season and their fans are celebrating a 4-1 (1-0) against the Athletic Club from Bilbao. In front of 81,365 spectators in the sold-out SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, Svensson, Chukwuemeka, Sabitzer and Brandt got the goals for BVB.

In their 09th competitive game of the season, the Black & Yellows took the lead in the 28th minute through Daniel Svensson and enjoyed a lot of possession against their opponents, but found few gaps in Bibao’s tight defence. That changed with the restart, as Bilbao opened up. Carney Chukwuemeka hit the back of the net in the 50th minute to make it 2-0. However, when Gorka Guruzeta pounced on a defensive error to pull one back for the away side in the 61st minute, Borussia wobbled, but did not fall. In the 82nd minute, Serhou Guirassy deflected Marcel Sabitzer's shot, before Julian Brandt made it 4-1 in injury time.

Borussia Dortmund have won their only home game in the five-week period between the October and November international breaks: on Matchday 8, the visit of 1. FC Köln. ended in a 1-0 (0-0) victory for BVB. The Black & Yellows now face four consecutive away games.

The visitors' potent counter-attacks caused the Black & Yellows lots of problems in the first half. BVB were only able to make an impact in attack on a few occasions. Dortmund increased the pressure significantly in the second half. It developed into a one-sided game, but Köln keeper Schwäbe stood his ground impressively, making seven shots. In the sixth minute of stoppage time, however, Maximilian Beier scored the late winner for BVB.

Borussia Dortmund have continued their course towards the round of 16 in Europe's elite competition. On Matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League, BVB celebrated their third victory in the group stage with a 4-0 (1-0) home win over Villarreal.

Out of nowhere, Guirassy headed BVB into the lead in stoppage time at the end of the first half. The visitors from Spain had been the more composed team up to that point in front of 81,365 spectators at a sold-out SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. Nine minutes after the restart, and following a lengthy VAR review that resulted in a red card for Villarreal's Foyth, Guirassy scored on the rebound after having the penalty saved to make it 2-0. Adeyemi quickly added a third to seal the win after a great assist from Brandt (58). Fabio Silva missed a penalty in the 82nd minute. But Daniel Svensson scored in added time to make it 4-0.

Six Bundesliga win in a row for the Black & Yellows! In the opening match of Matchday 22 of the Bundesliga, BVB celebrated a 4-0 (3-0) home win over 1. FSV Mainz 05.

A flawless hat-trick of assists from Julian Ryerson, a brace from Serhou Guirassy and another headed goal from Maximilian Beier gave the Black & Yellows a clear half-time lead. The team continued their convincing performance in the second half, with Ramy Bensebaini putting the icing on the cake with the final goal.

On matchday 26 of the Bundesliga, BVB secured a convincing 2-0 (1-0) home win against FC Augsburg thanks to goals from Karim Adeyemi and Luca Reggiani.

On matchday 27 of the Bundesliga, BVB staged a spectacular 3-2 comeback victory in the traditional fixture against Hamburger SV after trailing 2-0 at half-time. The victory, thanks to two penalties from Ramy Bensebaini and a goal from Serhou Guirassy, consolidated second place in the table.

Borussia Dortmund have taken a major step towards securing second place in the league.

On matchday 28 of the Bundesliga, BVB celebrated a 2-0 (0-0) away win against their closest rivals, VfB Stuttgart, and consolidated second place in the table.

On matchday 31 of the Bundesliga, BVB secured a 4-0 (3-0) home win against SC Freiburg thanks to a blistering first half, mathematically securing their place in the Champions League, and go into the final three matches of the season in second place, five points clear of the team in third.

Borussia Dortmund kicked off Matchday 33 of the Bundesliga with a 3-2 (2-1) home win against Eintracht Frankfurt, securing the runners-up spot with a game to spare.

In their final home match of the 2025/26 season, goals from Serhou Guirassy, Nico Schlotterbeck and Samuele Inacio saw BVB come from behind to win.
