Overall assessment of financial position and performance and business development

The Borussia Dortmund Group ended the 2025/2026 financial year with a consolidated net loss for the year of EUR 21,718 thousand (previous year: consolidated net profit of EUR 6,497 thousand).

Revenue amounted to EUR 460,467 thousand (previous year: EUR 526,019 thousand), down EUR 65,552 thousand year on year. The decrease is attributable in particular to lower income from TV marketing, which was due primarily to the team’s early elimination from international competitions. By contrast, net transfer income improved from EUR 37,842 thousand in the previous year to EUR 59,289 thousand.

Taking into account the net income for the year, the equity ratio is calculated at 51.5%. As at 30 June 2026, the Borussia Dortmund Group held unrestricted cash funds of EUR 3,668 thousand.

Borussia Dortmund also had access to an additional EUR 75,000 thousand in overdraft facilities which had not been drawn down as at the end of the reporting period.

Overall, business development during financial year 2025/2026 was less than satisfactory.
