Transfers and player loans

Midfielders Julien Duranville (transfer to French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais) and Kjell Wätjen (transfer to Danish runners-up FC Midtjylland) left Borussia Dortmund effective from the 2026/2027 season.

Winger Cole Campbell signed for SV Elversberg in early July 2026.

At the end of July 2026, Borussia Dortmund and FC Barcelona agreed the immediate transfer of forward Karim Adeyemi.

Defender Yan Couto has joined Italian Serie A side and Champions League contender Como 1907 on loan from Borussia Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund has also loaned defender Almugera Kabar to top-tier Dutch side NEC Nijmegen. Likewise, goalkeeper Diant Ramaj moved to Danish Superliga club FC Copenhagen on loan from Borussia Dortmund.

The U23 and U19 players Tony Reitz (transfer to 1. FC Magdeburg), Taycan Etçibaşı (transfer to Hannover 96) and Thierry Fidjeu-Tazemeta (transfer to 1. FC Kaiserslautern) have left Borussia Dortmund on a permanent basis.

Capital expenditure

French centre-back Joane Gadou moved to Borussia Dortmund from Austrian Bundesliga side FC Red Bull Salzburg with effect as at 1 July 2026. The contract runs until 30 June 2031.

At the beginning of August 2026, Borussia Dortmund signed Greece international Konstantinos Karetsas from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk, offering the 18-year-old forward a contract running until 30 June 2031.

In addition, fellow Greece international Giannis Konstantelias moved to Borussia Dortmund from Greek top-flight side PAOK Thessaloniki in mid-August 2026, with the forward signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2031.

Borussia Dortmund also signed midfielder Joey Veerman from PSV Eindhoven. The Netherlands international’s contract runs until 30 June 2031.

Other

The contract with Champion Partner Pluto TV Europe GmbH has been extended by one year until 30 June 2027. Borussia Dortmund also extended its Champion Partnership with Radeberger Gruppe KG until 30 June 2031. In addition, the contract with Hankook Reifen Deutschland GmbH (Champion Partner) was extended by a further two years until 30 June 2028.

MEGABAD GmbH (an online retailer for plumbing and bathroom fixtures) will be a Borussia Dortmund Premium Partner from the 2026/2027 season (until 30 June 2029).
