Borussia Dortmund have also won their second game in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League. BVB wiped the floor with Celtic, winning 7-1 (5-1). Karim Adeyemi gave a particularly outstanding performance, with three goals and an assist - but he also became the tragic hero of the game, having to be taken off shortly after half time.

Borussia Dortmund played like an unleashed force of nature as 81,365 spectators looked on in a sold-out SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. Emre Can opened the floodgates with a converted penalty (7), and Serhou Guirassy also scored from the spot (40), not to mention the three goals by Karim Adeyemi (11/29/42). This was the second time that BVB had scored five goals in a single half in a Champions League game. Daizen Maeda equalised in the ninth minute to make the score temporarily 1-1. Guirassy and Nmecha netted in the 66th and 79th minutes respectively to make the score 7-1 at full time.

The home streak continues! Borussia Dortmund celebrated their sixth home victory in six home games thanks to a 4-0 (2-0) win against SC Freiburg on Bundesliga Matchday 11 and leapfrogged their opponents from the Breisgau in the table.

Who will replace Guirassy? Beier and Nmecha were the partial answer to that question in the opening 45 minutes, with the duo scoring in the seventh and 40th minutes respectively to give the hosts a deserved 2-0 lead at the break. Brandt's direct free-kick (66) and Gittens (77) then increased the lead to 4-0.

The 111th Bundesliga clash between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern Munich ended without a winner. BVB took the lead thanks to a goal from Gittens in the first half and stayed in front until the 85th minute but ultimately had to settle for a 1-1 (1-0) draw.

Jamie Gittens fired BVB into the lead in the 27th minute in front of 81,365 spectators at a sold-out SIGNAL IDUNA PARK and Marcel Sabitzer had a great opportunity to make it 2-0 after an hour, but then the visitors grew increasingly stronger and levelled the scores at 1-1 through Jamal Musiala in the 85th minute.

Borussia Dortmund have put themselves in an excellent position ahead of the return fixture next Wednesday. In the first leg of the play-off for the UEFA Champions League round of 16, BVB recorded a 3-0 (0-0) victory away to Sporting CP thanks to a brilliant second-half display.

Approximately 4,500 fans at a slightly under-capacity Estádio José Alvalade witnessed a low-key encounter for 45 minutes. Both teams appeared intent on playing it safe, Borussia even more so than Sporting. But the Black & Yellows turned on the style after the interval and deserved the win and the 3-0 margin of victory, which came courtesy of goals from Guirassy (60), Groß (68) and Adeyemi (82).

Niko Kovac has his first home win! Borussia Dortmund celebrated a 6-0 (2-0) victory against 1. FC Union Berlin on Matchday 23 of the Bundesliga. Serhou Guirassy scored four of the six goals, with Maxi Beier netting the final one.

In front of 81,365 spectators at a sold-out SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, BVB needed a good 20 minutes to get going and then took a deserved 2-0 lead with goals from Diogo Leite (own goal, 25) and Serhou Guirassy (40), while also being denied by the crossbar before the break. In the final quarter of an hour, the fans had more goals to celebrate from Guirassy (75/80/83), before Maximilian Beier added a sixth (89).

Borussia Dortmund have narrowly missed out on an away win in Munich: BVB were ahead at one point but ultimately had to settle for a 2-2 (0-0) draw away to FC Bayern on Matchday 29 of the Bundesliga season.

The Black & Yellows started the match on full alert and made the first mark – Brandt striking the side-netting (7) – but then no longer played precisely enough. Bayern grew increasingly dominant, and Kobel twice kept out a potential opening goal in the closing stages of the first period. Instead, it was Beier who scored to make it 1-0 two minutes after the restart in a game that earned its billing as a "top match" in the second period. Guerreiro (65) and Gnabry (69) scored in the space of four minutes to put the league leaders 2-1 in front, before Anton made it 2-2 with 15 minutes remaining.

Borussia Dortmund jumped into a Champions League place, at least until Sunday evening. A 4-0 (1-0) victory over VfL Wolfsburg saw BVB leapfrog Leipzig and Freiburg into fourth place for the time being.

BVB took an early lead in the third minute through Serhou Guirassy's 18th goal of the season in front of 81,365 spectators at a sold-out SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, but were unable to put their stamp on the game as much as they had hoped in a largely even and uneventful first half. Borussia Dortmund have won their final away match of the 2024/25 season and kept their hopes of qualification for the UEFA Champions League alive. BVB ran out 4-2 (2-1) winners away to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Matchday 33 of the Bundesliga season.

The outstanding Kobel in goal, some help from the woodwork and clinical finishing in front of goal ensured Borussia Dortmund took in a fortuitous half-time lead. After Frimpong had made it 1-0 to Bayer in the 31st minute, Brandt (33) and Ryerson (43) put BVB 2-1 in front despite the first-half shot count of 15-4 in the opposition's favour. Following the restart, BVB made it more of an even game and struck in ice-cold fashion once again: Adeyemi (73) and Guirassy (76) slotted home chances three and four. Hofmann rounded off the scoring in stoppage time to reduce Leverkusen's deficit to 4-2.

Borussia Dortmund have done it! BVB climbed up to fourth position thanks to a 3-0 (1-0) home victory against Holstein Kiel on the 34th and final matchday of the 2024/25 season and qualified for the UEFA Champions League next season. Chants of "Europapokal, Europapokal!" (European Cup, European Cup) rang out around the stadium.
